There in the middle
Stories Behind the Songs
I firmly believe that according to the Word of God, we are living in the "last day" times. Everything that the Bible says must happen before the end, is now happening all over the world. Some call the Bible a book of stories and fantasy; I call it the Word of God. How could fantasy have prophesied so clearly thousands of years ago exactly what is happening today? I'm not a preacher and definitely not a saint, just a sinner like everyone else; but I've been saved by the sacrificial blood of Christ. I'll never be so good that I'm "ready" to go, but that's what the blood of Christ is all about; He's paid the debt for our sin. You too CAN be ready to go if you'll only acknowledge and accept the shed blood of Jesus. You don't need to change ANYTHING before you do it; just tell Him you believe it and accept it, and He'll do the rest! Now how GOOD is that!!!
LAST DAY TIMES
I think we all paint a picture of ourselves to reflect the situation we're in at the current time, whether it be at church, work, or at home. We were taught from an early age to "put on your best face" and don't show the pain, hurt or guilt we may be feeling. If we could just learn to live according to how Jesus taught us to, we wouldn't need to put on a face because we would have nothing to hide or be ashamed of. Jesus was always bold enough to be who He was, no matter how it upset the world; but the main thing is that He always did it as guided by the Father and with love and compassion for His fellow man.
A color so radiant that the human eye cannot look upon it; can you imagine the color of our God........... The Bible says in Exodus 34 "Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the LORD. When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him." Just as we cannot put a color to a baby's breath, love or a gentle summer wind, we cannot label God with a color. All we know is that He is so radiant with love and power we as humans cannot look upon Him; but one day we will.......... In Revelation 22 it says that when we are with Him "They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever." Praise God!!!!!
THE COLOR OF HIM
A song about the many reasons we have to SHOUT OUT LOUD because of what our wonderful God has done for us. "Through death on the cross He set us free, what greater sacrifice could there be, than the life He gave for a man like me. I once was blind but now I see." This is all the reason I need to SHOUT OUT LOUD!!!!!
SHOUT OUT LOUD
So often this world and the pressures of this world will cause us to stumble and fall into sin. We may feel that there is just no way God would ever want someone like us after the lives that we've lived; but that is so far from the truth. God sent His Son to die in our place so that we can be guaranteed eternal life with Him; and all we have to do is accept it........ how good is that!!!!
TAKE ME BACK AGAIN
The world today seems to be spinning faster and faster and there is just not enough time in a day to do what we need to do, and not enough time to spend time with those who should really matter in our life; our spouse, our children, our parents, etc. As we get older we realize just how fast the time is slipping away and that we need to get our priorities in order. Set some time aside each day to nurture the most important relationship you have; the one with your heavenly Father, who you will spend eternity with.
After Jesus was crucified He was resurrected after 3 days and re-appeared to His disciples and many others also. After 40 days He led the disciples up on a hill for His final farewell, and as He ascended into the clouds the angels said "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." He IS coming back again and it's going to be a glorious day... are you prepared?
HE'S COMING BACK AGAIN
I would have to say that this song likely originated out of my own guilt of knowing that I have passed so many people by that I know I should have taken the time to just stop and listen to. Many of them probably in my own church, sad to say. This world can get so busy that we forget not only to stop and smell the roses, but worse yet to stop and help our brother or sister when they are down and out. God help us to hear their silent cries and to not just pass them by.
THEIR SILENT CRY
There's nowhere you can go that God isn't there; no matter how high or how low, He's right there. He doesn't leave when you've fallen into sin or when the storms of life are raging around you. His spirit is like the wind; you can't see the wind but you can see the effects of the wind, that is how the Spirit of God works. Reach out and accept Him today, and be sure that from this time forward, there is no power in heaven or hell that can separate you from the love of God. He'll always be there, there in the middle, the middle of it all!
THERE IN THE MIDDLE
There is no experience that compares with the moment when you accept Jesus as your Savior and His Spirit enters your body and becomes one with you. At that moment there is total peace and the knowledge that He is real, and He is in control and you have nothing to fear. This song is sort of like a prayer for the continuous washing and cleansing of His Holy Spirit; for that unending joy and peace to constantly be with us through the quiet times and through the storms.
I wanted to write a fun, lively song that attempted to describe, in earthly terms, the spiritual joy of a relationship with Christ. So many words I can think of; comfort, security, peace, serenity, satisfaction, love, anticipation, and it goes on and on. I just hope the joy comes through in this song and gives you a little taste of indescribable feeling of knowing Jesus.
